I love the internet. I think it is the greatest invention since sliced bread. Not only is there a wealth of information online, but also there is the opportunity to make friends from far away places. Friends you would never have known if not for the internet. Friends who go out of their way to do something nice for someone they do not know except for an occasional online chat. I cannot express how deeply I cherish each and every one of these friends.
Recently, I won a blog contest sponsored by Lettie at the
Polka Dot Pineapple. The prize for the contest was a pillow. Not only did she send me a pillow, she sent me an entire box of her beautiful creations. I posted these gifts in a previous blog. Such a great friend she has become.
I have another internet friend I met from New York. Her name is Janet. One day while I was chatting online with her, I happened to mention my daughter was expecting a little girl. She was due to have it on July 8th. Today I received a package in the mail from this friend. What a surprise I had when I opened the package.
Along with a beautiful handmade card was a precious little pink sweater, hat and bootie set, all hand crocheted by her.
What a nice surprise!!! I am sure it will look beautiful on my new little granddaughter. I will treasure it always. Thanks, Janet.
